Along South Africa’s beautiful eastern coastline, about 20 minutes south of Durban’s King Shaka international Airport, lies Umhlanga Rocks. A very popular holiday resort destination known for its golden miles of sandy beaches. Thonga Beach Lodge
The unique Thonga Beach Lodge is located along one of South Africa’s most pristine and secluded coastlintes, on the Elephant Coast, right on the border of Mozambique. With a pleasant subtropical climate and the Indian Ocean, this area is known for its unspoilt golden miles of sandy beaches, surrounded by forest and shrub vegetation. The Mabibi beach is one of the cleanest, most beautiful beaches in the world and stretches forever to the north and south within protection of the ISimangaliso Wetland Park. From the lodge you have direct access to this pristine beach and can walk along the sea, snorkel, scuba dive, kayak or join a turtle tracking experience (depending on the season). At the lodge there is a nice communal pool area, a bar and a restaurant serving top local delicious cuisine.
Accommodation: Thonga Beach Lodge consists of 12 eco-sensitive rooms, some with forest and some with sea views and private plunge pool. All rooms located with privacy and minimal environmental impact. Children of all ages are welcome.
